Pondering Across Europe, Ep. 2, Thessaloniki: A Historical Walkthrough of How Greece Came to Be Distrusting

Lately, my life has been defined by constant change. Crossing European borders for my Erasmus Mundus in Impact Entrepreneurship has shifted my perspective, and this new blog series is the direct result of that journey.

It’s a bet on myself; I want to bring together two fundamentally opposed lenses. The romantic, leisurely vibe of a travel log, filled with imagery, commentary, and practical tips, and the grounded reality of socio-economic and political analysis, anchored by hard data, philosophy, and scholarly sources.

Will this unconventional marriage of vibes and variables actually work? You get to be the ultimate judge.

Pondering Across Europe, Ep. 1, Athens: The Current State of Greece, and a Society Without Trust

This is a new series for my blog, reflecting on the constant changes I’ve been experiencing recently, travelling across Europe in part due to my Erasmus Mundus in Impact Entrepreneurship.

The blogs will combine two very incompatible lenses: a leisure, travelling, and at times literary vibe with images, tips & commentary, and a (philosophically influenced) sociopoliticoeconomic analysis with hard data, sources, and research. How successful will I be in marrying them? You can be the judge.

I will conduct it all with respect, pragmatism, and a (painful to me even, at times) impartiality; always covering both sides of the argument to the best of my ability.

As my dad always said to us all: wear your boots; we’re leaving. Join me for my trips and prepare, with me, to start Pondering across Europe!
